Inertia, an exploration on mouvement and care
Inertia is a short publication I worked on when I was researching the debate regarding performance art and documentation amongst art theorists. The performances I was theorising were all linked to the theme of work and labour.
I wanted to represent and symbolise a stage of the research process which mingled theory, daily life, and "back-of-the-mind" thoughts. In some ways, it discusses the obsessional aspects of research, and my need to draw connections between past and present projects.
It also shows the frustration that may come with the research. The impossibility to formulate clearly a train of thought, an argument.
The design of the booklet may feel a bit peculiar, or "off". It was my intention to have a dissonant and disjointed style. It came with the tone of the text, which wasn't edited to stay as close to the thought as possible.
